Topic #7: What Would You UN-invent?

If I have a chance to UN-INVENT an invention, I will choose to un-invent cell phones. As is known to all, cell phone has been changing our lives for more than 10 years; however, in some cases, I think cell phones also have some negative effects on our lives.

         Cell phones really make it easier for people to communicate with each other. For instance, when you want to talk with your friends about the funny things happened today, you just need to dial the number or text your friends; however, this sort of actions make the communication more and more boring and cold. It seems like you are talking with the cold machine. Before the cell phones were invented, people had communicated with each other face to face. They shared their feelings and emotions more directly; furthermore, you could feel that more deeply. This is the first reason that I want to un-invent the cell phones.

      Secondly, it is not good for us students to concentrate on the cell phones too frequently. For example, in my reading class, a boy always focuses on his cell phones during the class. What’s worse, he even used his cell phones during the test. The teacher had to require him to put his cell phone away every time when he used his cell phone. I think using cell phone too frequently will influence not only us but other people; if you use it too frequently, you cannot concentrate on anything but you cell phones. I think it is bad for you normal lives. We do have other more important things to accomplish.

         In conclusion, the cell phones make the communications among humans more exhausting, more boring and less directly. Besides, concentrating too much on cell phones will influence our normal lives negatively. Thus, if I have a chance to un-invent one of the advanced inventions, I will choose the cell phones.
